Responses received from our membership regarding concern for the apparent increase in weed growth was staggering! Never have we received such response to a topic from our newsletter!
As a result, we have partnered with Paul Wiancko, (who is involved with monitoring annual water quality from inland lakes in our region), to address this issue. There will be an info meeting on
June 23rd
at Baxter Ward Community Centre for all concerned members and non-members. We are in the process of securing speakers for this meeting. We are targeting the reason for this excessive growth of Eurasian Water-Milfoil and what can be done about it.
Some of the member responses we received talked about successes and failures of things that they have tried to suppress weed growth. . We would love to hear from more of you about what you have done while doing "battle with the weeds". Please email to
mail.gpca@gmail.com
