2018 marks GPCA's 100th anniversary. GPCA was created in 1918 to create a community so that cottagers would get to know each other and help protect their properties from theft and vandalism. The "getting to know your neighbour" is still a big part of GPCA, but also now GPCA provides activities and events to enhance the cottage experience.
We have a community hall which was built in 1969. Over the years, the supports underneath have deteriorated to the point that we have felt unsafe using the hall. This year, we plan to start construction to firstly replace the piers to make it structurally sound, and then start on cosmetic repairs which should make it a safe and clean hall to meet and have activities for the families in our community. Eventually we also need to replace the docks.
We need your help! Help in terms of volunteer time to support our activities. But also help in the form of financial donations towards the expenses of the community hall renewal.
